| Which 6speed clutch would people recommend using, but don't really want to pay a fortune.
The power is 390/420 on my car
Would a excedy pink box handle it? These are around £350
Got a quote for an act paddle clutch at £625 but abit more then I really wanted to pay really
Cheers

| Ill go for the excedy pink then
I was running the excedy standard clutch in the 5 speed and it could handle that alright, but I only done 2500 miles on it and 1500 was running the engine in

| The pull type clutch on 5 speeds from the pre 2006 will fit on the pull type 6 speeds pre 2006 I think | |

| If the truth be told I hate my Exedy Pink Box. I am running about 350/350 on my Hawkeye STI and it gets right on my nerves. I've had it since September and when reversing slowly up a slight gradient or riding the clutch slightly on an incline it slips and the clutch burn smell fills the cabin. If I had the choice again I would have paid for an AP Racing clutch which I am told is smoother but a lot more expensive. Might need to change the clutch again soon though if my remap in Feb gets anywhere close to the 450 I am looking for! |

I think 2006 onwards the gearboxes are push type clutches on 5 & 6 speed boxes all 6 speeds are pull type from MY00 to present, the exedy pink box is a cheaper alternative to an uprated clutch, some peeps find them good and some have issues with them, the AP racing and SACHS racing are brilliant all round but more expensive, iddys car ran a sachs racing clutch for about 4 yrs until he sold the car

| As Andy says all 6sp are pull type our sti's running std clutch mines running 6pk Act with uprated Exedy cover, I personelly find the exedy pinks shite judder free my arse better off with a std boxed exedy rather than a pink | |

| As andyK said I had a sach in mine for nearly 5 years and never had a problem, clutch feel is very similar to a standard one as well. No problems at all.
I did run a standard subaru clutch for 6 months when the car was running 530/490.
