Possible Legacy GTB Project? Empty
PostSubject: Possible Legacy GTB Project?   Possible Legacy GTB Project? EmptyWed 30 Jan - 15:46

I've a reasonably good '98 Legacy GTB Twin Turbo, which currently has a large space where the engine should be.
As it needs quite a bit of work doing to get it back on the road, I'v been thinking of modding it to a single turbo, and going for about
350hp (standard TT is 280hp).
But is it worth it, as a good TT can be mapped to 320 with very few mods.
I need to price up the bits off an Impreza that I'd need to go single turbo, but to be honest, I don't know a lot about Imprezas.
The Legacy engine is a phase 2 type, and will be rebuilt with new Impreza V5 Sti forged pistons, V9 Sti Conrods.

So how much would these bit cost me, and are they suitable, and are they available cheap:

Exhaust Manifold headers and up pipe (Will newage Sti stuff do the job?)

Down pipe. (the car already has a big bore catless exhaust)

Impreza gearbox crossmember to match the impreza downpipe.

Convert to Sti pink topfeed injectors (GTB has yellow sidefeeds)

Turbo, quick spooling prefered (VF35 ?), and brackets.

Inlet pipe for turbo.

Not sure if the TT intercooler will need to be changed, but they do flow very well apparently.

ECU with Ecutech license?

Any help and info is appreciated.

Cheers, Mike.

It might be a while, got the day car change all the suspension on, and the first project car to
get back on the road.
Looking forward to doing the single turbo jobbie though.

You back on the road yet?
