You can pick up a 2nd hand OEM STI intercooler for the same price or less than that - they are good for up to 400bhp. |

I think you can go a bit higher on the STi one mate, Andy F's website says that for 410-460 bhp it's optional to go for a FMIC. I think they're good for 450bhp. I wouldn't bother with a cheap on off eBay, I'd just stick with OEM. What power you looking for? I think the Hawk WRX is good for over 350bhp. http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/27344.html

Edit: looks like the Hawk WRX TMIC is good for 450 too http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/27344.html It says on that link on the level 3 tuning that a Sti top mount is needed so the hawk wrx one is obviously no good for that sort of power

| I think Dean is only looking for around the 350 mark so an STI TMIC is perfect for that and onwards up to 400ish. They are a great TMIC.
He has a Hawkeye WRX so not advisable to go beyond that 350-360 mark without the risk of piston failure. Once you start going over the 400 mark with the OEM TMIC it's not really about the most bhp that can be produced, as the effectiveness of the intercooler at dissipating heat at a given power level. |

| Dean for the power you are looking for i would go for a STI top mount. The Hawk WRX TMIC are small in comparison. | |

Sorry smoggy. Still stands tho, STi TMIC is the one to go for. Cheap ones are cheap for a reason. The STi TMIC will cover you up to 450bhp.

| The undertray is the plate which goes onto the bonnet under the scoop to direct the flow more evenly over the intercooler. It's better to have one than not have it and it should fit, but not certain as if it's a blob sti under tray, it might be too large for the scoop? | |

| Yes you are better to have the undertray, the undertray you have now will be the correct size for your wrx intercooler, so you will be better off with the sti undertray to match the sti intercooler otherwise the airflow won't cover the full intercooler, not sure if a blob undertray will fil a hawk though. | |
