Run out to South Shields Sun 5th May

Just thought i'd pop an invite here, sorry if its not allowed

Being a member of another club (not a scooby one) they are taking a run to Shields on the 5th May for a fish and chip Lunch. Nice convoy down, hopefully sunny day too. So far we have 3 MR2s and 4 Scoobies going.

Anyone interested?

Not much of a run for me. I live right on the sea front in Shields.

Lucky you lol.....ive never been to the town but its the best beach beach we have by far. Wish i lived closer to it...best fish n chips too lol

You'll be lucky finding somewhere to park up if the weather is nice because they've got the big carpark at Littlehaven beach up and alot of the front fenced off.

I know you probably won't be on the sand but the other beach now has restrictions where the sand dunes are out of bounds to conserve the plants.

I've also never seen so much of thr beach eroded by the weather as it is at the moment .. the sewage pipe is standing really proud of the beach and all the rocks which are normally covered aren't anymore.

My parents used to own kiosks on the sea front (Ocean Road) doing fish & chips, burgers, hotdogs etc for years and I think the Council tore the heart out of the place when they did away with them - it's really in a sorry state at the moment - but I love the place.

Been going since I was little on the club trips spotting the humper bumper slide (which also is now gone sadly after it burnt down!

But we'd meet you probably at the Washington services north bound .. would need times though pls closer to the time when you're sorted out

Hi....the route we are taking is .... 10:30 meeting at North road darlington , then onto 11am meeting at Teesside park then up the A19 as we're meeting some from the Redcar area. ANy suggestions with the Washington bit? we were going to take coast roads but happy to change it if we can met other people along the way.

We're hoping to get into the overflow car park. lol

Ahh right well if you're taking the coast roads we could just meet you down there .. thought you'd be coming up the A1

We would have been coming A1 if a couple werent coming from redcar.....will have a word with them see if we can switch it to A1
