PostSubject: anti lag   anti lag EmptySat 10 Jul - 15:50

i have an apexi e.c.u which doesnt compact with anti lag, anti lag is fuel direct into the turbo or fuel running to turbo when throttle is released will a dirrect nos jet not do the same or a nos jet on the air intake as a wet kit? is there any other way around it

Fuel does not go into the turbo bud. I'm pretty sure of that, anti-lag keeps the turbo spooling which enables the pops and bangs. My type R has it via a Simtek.

well the petrol doesnt exactly run direct into the turbo but its still feed into the engine when the exhaust valves are still open

I think anti lag advances the timing about 40 degrees or so, so on the compression stroke the exhaust valve is still open. Unburnt fuel is pushed into the turbo and the exhaust system, keeping the turbo at full chat. It also pressurizes the inlet somehow (air feed or something). I think you'll need a pretty tasty exhaust to run anti lag

Thats about right but it retards the timing, it maintians a positive manifold pressure by keeping the turbo running all the time.

However it greatly increases turbo temperature and apparently it does destroy exhausts if they are not able to handle the extra pressures and temperatures.

Or so i read.
