| Ok peeps just thought I'd offer another service at hydrotek custom coatings along with the dipping am also doing liquid wraps....liquid dip....spray vinyl and as we commonly know it plasti dip, a lot of you know of this stuff and maybe a few that don't but its basically a spray on rubber that can coat most types of surfaces and offers a colour change....paint protection and letting you put your own custom look to car panels or full cars without needing to notify the DVLA.......my first demo car was a 400bhp focus which come to me gloss black......with matte black wheels plastics ect.... First up the wheels and plastics ...wing mirrors ect getting a gloss black look ..... Then before you plasti dip a car to help with the tidying up at the end it's best to mask off wot you can......there are vids out there where they painting the lights and pulling it off once cured, but why even waste material as the masking tape is cheaper...... So the car is ready to apply the selected colour ......abit of a mix up with my supplier ment we tried to just put yellow straight onto the car which got me knowhere.....green infact! Once we chatted again it needs 2 thick coats of a white blocker before colour.....once that is in you can start to build the colour up...... This project never went without issues and they kept coming.......next up I was shy of about 2 1/2 to 3 litres of plasti dip.....and next was the impatient owner of the car wanting to be in it ect ect.......if he left it another 2 days it would of been done and been a good showcase of this product......car is back in this wk to get finished off.......we put it back together and in the road which am totally not happy about but he insisted.......any way people few pictures of it nearly finished so you get the idea......... The colours are endless and also available in candy ...lumo....metallic and pearl.......any queries or quotes give me a shout but prices start from £400 been a small car mini/fiesta ect and onwards, I will answer any questions and would like your thoughts on this lovers and haters.... Cheers locky@hydrotek | |

Is it permanent ? How do you get it back to original if you can? I was going to ask that, can it easily be put back to how it was if needed or not, if changing the colour of the whole care surely the colour would need to be changed on log book.

| I do like it but my questions are -
1) Does it withstand stone chips well ? 2) Does it stand up well to being washed ? 3) If my little'un decided to play chasey around the car, does it scratch easy ?

| I think if your going to do a 100mph up the motorway then anything is going to chip if thrown up and you hit it.......to wash a simple soapy sponge and a light jet wash or hose down ......this is the idea to stop the scratches happening......it's pretty durable but of course it will scratch with certain sharp objects and force and if that happens then a spot repair can be carried out, unlike vinyl the whole panel needs to be re wrapped.........think of the winter months....road salt....gritters ect this will protect your paint work till the summer, peel it off and wax her up or even a fresh couple of coats can go straight over the top.........I can imagine peeling this been like a good clay bar | |
