It's screwed in mate. Pop the facia surround off and you'll see clearly. Not delicate mechanism from Fuji heavy industries there.

Sure you pop the plastics off around the bottom of the gear stick first then the make your way up form there. It's only clips holding the plastics on then like KGT says just unscrew the six screws holding the radio on

Might be screws holding the plastics on after you pull the gear surround off coming to think of it

Thought you pull the cup holder forward remove screws and then the surround can come out so you can get to the screws around stereo.no need to be near the gearstick

Might be different with mine being a 05 STi ? I'm sure I had to remove my gear surround because I dropped a screw down there with it being off
