Seen your pics in facefook Andy and gutted i couldn go. Seemed a canny day aswel. What won best classic? Plus did they do an award for standard car? The judging for the clubs this year was done by each club, 1 club 1 vote form. There were no groups of judges for the club stands as per previous years, you voted for your best choices except your own which isn't allowed.
each voting sheet for each club had 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th you wrote on your own forms which club best deserved the vote you think.
all forms were collected and the results collated and adjudicated by independents. Rob - as the NESF Judge I can confirm that I chose my top 5 out of the 12 listed and put it into the voting box. However I just think that the effort that needs to go into a club the size of ours, where membership is free, is quite significant in comparison to the smaller clubs with 10 or so cars.
Your car looked mint by the way...as usual! Maybe the way to go with the stand Judging is to go back to basics the way it used to be. The way I can see it is there must be tension between clubs and the distinct possibility of jealousy. Giving clubs the freedom to judge on there own was maybe not really the right thing to do & we should indeed go back to the way it used to be. Nothing ventured nothing gained and it's clear it doesn't work the way It was first thought. These threads are vital for constructive critisim's on the best way to improve things for the future. I visited your club stand once or twice through the day as an impartial as I wasn't judging that part & could see there was indeed a very good variety of cars and models and all the members were friendly enough as usual. Cheers for the compliment

Coulndnt work that one out. But hey, they were cleaner than mine. As a Judge for the classes this year (First time) the three of us were given 2 specific sections of the car to look at and inspect and report on a basic scale of 1-10 (for each section,2 sections =20 points per judge 60 overall) theye were Body work & Interior, Bodywork & engine bay. Underbody and wheels. When the classes were called into the arena the were started from left to right as per looking down the field. Each car was inspected and wrote down on the sheets which have been collected and kept by the organisers, A re group at the end of the class gave us the top two which all 3 judges agreed on. the top two with the highest out of 20 were then carried on to the next stage which was a further inspection of all areas by all 3 of us and a decision for 1 and 2 made & over all car of the day and runner up.

| I had a really good day and everyone's car is a credit to them, thought our stand looked really well while others looked the same as every other year. The idea of having all the different models on show was a great idea too but I guess we will just have to try harder with the stand next year somehow........although how else do you park 60+ subaru's We do well for a free to join club | |

| I'd like to add my congratulations to you all. Ive never seen so much cleaning activity in the club and the photos on line were amazing. Very well deserved trophys to those who received them, I was trawling the photos this morning and I thought all the cars did us credit, not just those who entered the show. Apologies I couldnt make it in the end, sound like some head scratching on results and format. Hopefully the new team in place will sort things for next year and we can at least consider our attendance at that point. But for now.......roll on TOTB !!!!!!!!! | |

But as said this was my first year on the judging team & can appreciate with so many fine examples presented to us the decisions were difficult. I can quite happily provide pointers in which areas we were looking for in the final stages for the 1st and 2nd. I know mine last year was denied a placing because of a bit of crap on the front mount bumper bar which was hidden.
