green maf sensor

im after a maf sensor for my W reg uk2000 turbo. The maf has a green line on the top of it, it has a 4 pin connection. My car is flagging up code 23 Mass air flow sensor, car is hesitant and pops and bangs when you hit boost and is very jerky doesnt boost right at all. i tried to clean the maf today and since cleaning it the car almost dies when slowing down to stop. the car doesnt die either when the maf is unplugged.  does anyone have one i could try before i buy one? i will come to you if you have one to try, thanks in advance

Try cleaning it with brake cleaner before you splash out on a maf.

i was advised not to use that use proper maf cleaner halfords sell it i got some today

I used carb cleaner today and seemed to make problem worse. Im not sure if you can even clean the ine I have

Thats not the one. When I say green its leterally just the maf that has a green line on it, the air box it goes into is just black I will try get a pic up.

I have ordered one new for £60 thanks to my cousin getting trade discount, will hopefully be the right one, if not a lad has messaged me with the correct one (he sent me a pic) for £30 posted so hopefully I'll get sorted wothin next couple of days I will let you know my results maybe it will help another owner

hi lads i have wiped codes and car now has no codes. however under full throttle car hesitates and back fires, boost sticks at 1.1bar when should hit 1.5bar. car does boost if you do it gradually. any ideas? im getting sick now so if anyone feels like it please make me an offer?

Mine did that when I bought it, bloke thought it was a coil pack or lead. Turned out to be a knock sensor. Plug the green or black connectors in under the dash and read the code. Sure knock sensor was code 22. There is a code reader "how to" somewhere on here.

i have had it plugged in mate and there is no codes, a lad showed me how to do it at summer maddness last weekend. whats a knock sensor? people have suggested map sensors, boost solinoid, coil packs and leads, spark plugs the lot i dont know where to start.

i love the car but unfortunately theres more important things to pay for than my daft toy haha

Under the bonnet, LH side, mounted near the suspension top, is a black bracket with map sensor, boost solonoid on. The boost solonoid can clean out, connect the wires up under dash and that will engage fuel pump & solonoid. With the solonoid connected but vacuum pipes off, squirt some brake cleaner down it. Solonoid should have a tick sound when them plugs are plugged in. I think its the black plugs.

This is a boost solonoid but I think yours is 2 port whereas this is 3 but look the same.

Map sensor is next to it, a little black box looking thing with a vacuum pipe connected under it.
