| Hi, Exhaust wise I've currently got a blitz nur-spec r and a milltek de-cat down pipe. The down pipe is 3" all the way and I believe the nur-spec is 3" but reduces to 2.5" where it joins the down pipe. I've taken a couple of pics of where the 2 join. Would I just need to get that one small bit changed and would it be worth my while to have the nur-spec altered to 3" all the way through? Logically, having a 2.5" section would mean that the whole system is in effect only a 2.5" not a 3"? Next question is where would be the best place to get it done and how much approx would it be? Any thoughts? Cheers Paul | |

| Not sure if that would make any difference TBH Paul. Sure Jonny or Andy K will shed some light. | |

| Paul, from an hydraulic point of view it would make a big diference as your creating a throttle within the system by reducing the pipe size to 2.5".
By reducing the pipe size you are creating a backward flow in the pipes as the 2.5" pipe cannot flow the same amount as a 3" pipe.
I know when I was running a sports cat on mine this was doing a similar thing reducing the air flow, thus causing back pressure within the front system. I gain about 30hp when I removed it from my system and put a small silencer in its place.

Would I not just need one 3" flange for the blitz end? as the down pipe is already 3".

| Not sure if it's totally flat? Could just get 2 flanges and take one back if it's not needed.
I'll get back to you once I've been to revolution.

| It would be an advantage to replace the 2.5" part with a 3" if you are going over 380hp, under that and a 2.5 system will flow enough gas, remember though that joint is also a flexing point on the exhaust. I did exactly the same job on my first Subaru when planning on going over 400hp, I fitted a flexi joint though, this made the system 2 piece though! This is what I used- http://www.pacesetterexhaust.com/perf_exhaust.htmIt was the- 82-4218 | |
