Tax band costs

What's the cut off registration date between the higher tax cost and the lower tax cost and what's the difference in cost, thanks

Already see this, but thought some 06 cars were just over £200 to tax and some 06 cars were over £400 to tax but it only mentions before or after 2001 on there

23rd march 2006 looks like the change date, jonny will know, his car was registered just before the date, so he pays cheaper tax

I hope it is my car was registered on the 20th march 2006 and herd cut of date was the 13th so if the 23rd is correct then happy days gor me

Just got my renewal yetserday. £260 on a 2004 car (that might be just ever so slightly modified )

the cut off point is march 13th 06

av been lookin at hawkeyes for the last few weeks and it seams the 55, 06 cars in the cheap tax band are fetching more money than the 56, 07 cars

just had a look on parkers online and it says 23rd as well, but sure Jonnygav said 13th on Tuesday to someone as well, and in jonny and Finn we trust

Strange, I was sure it was also 13th march 06 but the direct gov site does say 23rd, will have a look at the exact date mine was registered when I get in.

yeah we were told off the subaru garage a few year ago that after the 23rd of march 2006 the higher tax bracket applies

a hope it is the 23rd, as av seen a few hawkeyes with registered date as the 20th

when av been looking for one that is the 1st thing a look at, when it was registered

no way would a pay over £200 more a year tax for a car a hardly use.

ours is 2nd jan 06 just taxed it this month £260

Aarons hawk i'm sure was reg 20th march and he got stung with £400/year i'd have questioned it but he never bothered


I've also seen classic imports thats been reg over here in 2006 on been shafted with the 400/year so it isnt always down to year of manufacture

So if looking for a hawk best to get one registered before the 23rd march 2006, what the easiest way of finding out when I car was registered when you see one advertised.

just ask the seller what tax band or even just how much the tax is, then ya cant go wrong with the mix up of dates
