Subject: Hawk STI - potential engine costs? Sun 20 Apr - 20:53
If I took the risk on a Hawk STI and the worse should happen with the 2.5 engine (head gasket, pistons etc) what sort of cost would I need to expect including labour for a new engine?
Is there any things I can do to try and prevent failure?

If you aren't going chasing BHP just get the pistons done like Anth done. PM Andy Kindon and he will give you a decent price bud. On the other hand if you want to go 400+ you may as well go fully forged.

Jusy circa 320-330 mate. Did Anth get forged pistons like? Is that the grey hawk in Hpool?

Anth has the red Hawkeye WRX with black spoiler. He just did forged pistons only as his Headgasket went, so he got it done whilst he was getting HG done - Andy Kindon did it for him. If you are remaining fairly standard mate then pistons is all you need.
