bank card scam

as above thought id post it on here to warn every1 i got an email off who i i thought was halifax offering all there ultimate reward customers a new photo bank card, basically u could get a photo of ur car on ya bank card which i thought wud be cool lol anyway after id uploaded a photo i got thinking this was weird! so phoned the bank who confirmed it was a new scam and id been had bank told me id probably not recieve card! but they were wrong its just came through letterbox!!! looks cool but il not be using it. jus a few tips for use the bank will never send u an email with a link to another page or ask u for any details so dont be silly lik me

i got email off them and not been with them for 5 years reads as follows

As part of our security measure, we regularly screen activity in the Halifax Plc system. You received this message due to an issue on your account.

Due to unusual number of invalid login attempts on your account, we have reason to believe there might be security breach on your account.
Your account requires extra verification process to ensure your identity and your account security.
Click on Sign in to Secure online Banking to continue to the verification process and ensure your account security.

very worrying because the email i got had nearly all my details on it how they get this information scares me! lik a said b4 i hav actually recieved the card which is weird because the issue number on card is rite


i think the card has actually come from halifax but the email was a scam and they hav applied for card on my behalf to make it seem real?

Hey Dicca,
I would walk into the Halifax in Durham asap and talk it over with the branch manager.
Take a copy of all of the email's etc with you and get them to check it all out, the scammers may have already stolen your details so you need to ensure that you have everything protected or even get the Halifax to swap out your account.

At least if you are talking to a manager in the branch face to face you know that you are okay.

Better be safe than sorry mate - you don't want to get to pay day and notice that someone has cleared out your bank account.

i have been on phone to them and they cancelled all my cards and are sending new ones out, they say nothing been applied for or payed for with my details as nothing on the system! its worrying were they got information from, ive got internet banking set up and hav been keeping a very close eye on my money
