diff ratios Empty
PostSubject: diff ratios   diff ratios EmptyTue 13 Sep - 19:22

where to start....hmmmmm....ok so ive just got a ty754 box with ppg gearset installed, uk type gearing from a rb5. front diff is 3.54 and so have ordered a rear diff to match that fits straight onto my v5 type r. i also want to change over the dccd from my current gearbox to the ppg box. anyway i go see my usual mechanic who starts a big argument with me regarding front and rear diff ratios and why do i need to change this and why new rear diff that etc etc. unfortunately i did not have a answer for him and could only tell him that thats just the way it is lol. could someone please elaborate why we match the front and rear diffs especially when a dccd centre diff is going to be installed and what the actual damage would be if we dont and why, thanks.
