Hi and welcome to nesf, we also had the same problem as you, we've had our scoob over 2 years now, but about 11 weeks after buying it we had the bottom end death rattle, we replaced crank, bearings, oil pump, gaskets, timing belt, modene, oil, coolant and also one of the rods, we went for New and uprated parts to make it stronger, if I remember rightly the parts cost us approx £1200, then labour on top of that, (Luckily I've got a clever brother for that) you may not need everything we did, but it's just to give you an idea, sure someone with more knowledge will be on later with some advice. Hope you get it sorted.

yeh i totaly understand that mate its not cheap by any means, but also doesnt have to be a rush.......i could have just replaced the whole engine cheaper than wot it cost in the long run but well worth it at the end if you ask me......but its become an addiction which am pleased to say am hooked ;0)
