I would say anything that alters the induction system or increases flow would then need a remap, just to be on the safe side.
I changed my up pipe to a one which increased spool up and was told by a expert that I didnt need a remap, 3 months later I popped a piston as the car was running to lean.
Didnt put mine on till the day before the map, as Iddy said, anything that increases the air flow / spool up etc prompted me to act on the side of caution. Once mapped in there was a noticeable difference in the car. One of the best most cost effective mods Ive done. Hats off to Finn who provided the service.
