| Yup wireless mateaslong as your laptop has wifi/ wireless capability then you just plug printer to wall. You can print from any wifi enabled device ie phone/camera ect aslong as your in range . There is some which you can send pictures and documents from a fone from miles away | |

| It's the easy way to do it,think you can still connect your laptop and printer together via a network without a router, need to create a p2p network | |

| Wireless printers aren't that expensive - got a great one from printerland with a 5 year warranty for £99 and it's quite economical on ink too, which aren't an arm and a leg (much cheaper to run than the Kodak one I'd bought which 'claimed' cheap to run .... it wasn't and went through more ink than the Evening Chronicle lol) - but you'd not be able to print off from your garage for example at home tho on any I don't think ... so you'd need a portable printer whichever way you go if you want to print off when you're away from home |

| Finn, if you don't have a wireless router in the same building as the wireless printer then no, you cannot print to it. Having a dongle is not enough, you need a proper connection. If you have a bluetooth or infra red printer with a compatible laptop you can print but the range is rarely any good.
In short, a wireless printer would be no good to you with your present set-up

| Tried a few Epson wifi printers and they are complicated to setup and ink isn't good value. I bought a £34 HP wifi printer from Comet and it virtually set itself up and works perfectly. I have replace the ink on it without any problems and it was £14 for black and coloured cartridges | |

| peer to peer/ad hoc wireless connection, you dont need a router for this type of setup, but it can be a pain in the arse to setup, not worth the chew
but HP have been known to have a better connectivity than epson and easier to setup, but inks are usually telephone numbers
