Long story short the wrx was trapped in about a foot of floodwater this morning, it restarted but bogged down a while later. It doesnt seem to have taken any water in through the air filter but the exhaust def took some draining. Its driving a lot rougher now and seems very jerky below 3000 rpm. After that it seems a lot more drivable. The turbo seems to be spooling really fast too. Any ideas ?

Its also more louder abd thumpier sounding than before, ive changed the plugs tonight and it seems to have smoothed it a little bit.

just sounds like you have water in the baffles of the exhaust, thats why it sounds louder, it will dry out over time.

Does it idle ok, if your sure it hasn't taken any wwater through the intake system i would leave it idleing for alittle bit to dry the system out.

Yeah was idling low and then s bit lumpy making me think it might have bent a rod but seems to get better. I think the ecu might have got wet from water in the footwells so just drying that out. Tried turning it over with the plugs out to un hydrolock it but nothing came out the cylinders but s petrol smell

Agree with stick, get some heat into the engine to dry everything out once the ecu is dried out.

Cool, will leave it to dry out then try that. If its still bad then guess its s rebuild. Does anyone know anyone who can take s look before it throws a rod. ?
