Looking to change my brake fluid is it ok to use dot 5.1 in my brembos? Just don't want to knack the seals or anything and I'm gonna try and do a full system flush how much brake fluid will I need?

Cheers

Speak to Alyn @ AS Performance as he had some good deals on MOTUL fluid.

Dot 5.1 is absolutely fine - Alyn closed today until the 8th April - I was up seeing him picking up my "Gucci" Whiteline Anti-lift Kit lol!

Cheers mate. Local motor factors can get me a good price on mintex discs and pads all round and I was going to get the fluid from there as they'll probably do it cheaper for me hopefully just wanted to know if I can put 5.1 in or if I have to stay with 4 as my dad said he remembers reading somewhere that 5.1 can knacker seals but obviously I don't want to do this so just trying to find out if I can or not

Runs fine in my 'SUBARU' calipers. You will need quite a little to flush out the system and replenish with 5.1,

John I know mintex pads are generally excellent for most cars and I would reccomended fitting them to anything but a Subaru with brembos on. They don't fit right and squeek like fook soo annoyingly loud you feel like a right tramp every time you brake..

Had Mintex 1144's in my std 4 pots and they were great but was seriously advised to swap to something more Brembo friendly when I got my big gold bars. The Pagids I got from Drew were very good and I can certainly recommend them for everyday use.

Whatever you go for, stay at least a million miles away from EBC, no matter what the colour and what the price. You'd be better off cutting holes in the floor and trying to stop with your feet.
