| Yea there's a panel you remove in the passenger footwell under the carpet. It takes about 30 seconds to pull down the carpet and maybe a min or two to undo the bolts for the panel. It's not in the floor so you don't need to remove the carpet just pull it down is sat on the diagonal section you would put your feet on if you Had long legs..

| If its a 1996 it should have a Z4 fitted, they are the best early classic ECU by far with the best standard map on. | |

| Not after 1997, the WRX had the larger VF22 fitted, not many of them around now though. The subaru figures were- WRX 280PS STI 300PS But the jap rules at the time were no car was to produced with more than 280PS as a gentlemans agreement so everything got the 280ps tag The skyline R33 v-spec was also supposed to be 280PS, most of them did 340 | |

| It should have a VF22 fitted, no problems though, I ran a VF28 on a 97 WRX ECU without issue, the early VF turbos are all a very similar spec.
As mark says it should be around 280ps (276 Bhp) | |

| Weird lol wonder how I ended up with it, there's no reason in history to suggest its been changed, would it mean the car needed mapping or is this a very similar turbo to the 22? | |

| No need for a remap, chances are the VF22 failed as the compressor wheel is very weak. | |
