| Hiya Peter
You were mentioning that you know where to get the 'classic' shape shell for the remote control cars - can you tell me please?
Thanks

| At present I can only find it on an american site as it's a fairly old kit, Classic impreza The tamiya kit number is 58259, if it's only the shell you want it would depend on what scale car you want to put it on. Peter |

| Its the width as they can be 190mm or 200mm dependant on chassis width.

| Was seriously thinking about getting one today, then I come home to a letter from the DVLA saying "it is going to cost you £135 to park your car outside your house for the next 6 months" robbing gits, I really begrudge paying road tax when I only use the car on a weekend Rant over | |

| Thursday term time and every other Tuesday occasional scooby meets. Limited milage insurance so got to be careful. Bring in paying tax being paid by usage and we'd be laughing with our cars! |

| But governments don't do things like that 3rd party insurance and tax included with fuel would stop the dodgers too, no claims being denied because some muppet wasn't insured, sounds sensible but they don't do sensible either.......of course chip pans would pay less.... Ooops, he'll moan we've hijacked his topic |

WRC2003 is on the chassis TT01 ?? Right just had an email back from a nerd who knows everything about tamiyas, he says the shell of the earlier kit will be the same size, so you need to phone a few tamiya stockists and see if they can get a shell for tamiya kit number 58259. The biggest supplier I can think of straight off is www.modelsport.co.ukPeter |

| Also for people considering buying an rc car, I've got an email here off a company that can do a group buy on an associated sc10 (i'll put a vid link at the bottom so you can have a look) ready to run for approx £200, these retail at approx £300 so basically saving a third on the price. If you are interested let me know, promo vidIndoor racing down southstock out of the box carPeter

| Peter what do you reckon to the kyosho inferno gt kits?
Was gonna buy one of these a while back but never bothered
are nitro cars worth bothering with, or would you recommend battery power?
Thanks,

| For ease of us, having somewhere to use it you need battery (very few nitro tracks, none within 2 hours of Durham) The GTs are on road, even more limited think there are 2 clubs in the UK. Issues with noise means even if you pop to an industrial estate you will be asked to leave. Nitro are also less dependable. Battery powered cars there are several clubs across the north east. Seaham is mainly off road buggies, Teeside does mainly on road, Long Benton is on road. If you just want something to use anywhere, you need something capable of off road or you would need to use smooth surface only. Pete finds on road boring to be honest. Depends what you want to use it for/do with it ? Hope that helps, he's busy (on the playstation ) |

Go like shit off a stick as well In all honesty if you just want something you can get out and drive anywhere I'd look at some sort of off road buggy, on road cars need a fairly large area of near enough perfectly flat tarmac, where as a buggy or truck will go anywhere. If you want the same sound as the gt cars look at something along the lines of a 1/8th nitro truggy or buggy, you just need to take into account the space needed for something of that scale and speed. I personally use my electric stuff anywhere I like the nitro stuff I've got takes a bit more thought of where to go. If you are going to consider racing in the future have a look around and see what clubs are near to you and by a car that is popular there. Peter |
