Wheels Cleaned & Sealed Empty
PostSubject: Wheels Cleaned & Sealed   Wheels Cleaned & Sealed EmptyFri 31 May - 19:14

Thought since I have recently had my wheels refurbed & painted I would give them the full treatment today since the weather was awesome. Started off at 10.00am and just finished at 6.00pm - I am broken now Sad

Car washed with Dodo Juice Supernatural Shampoo, lambswool wash mitt and rinsed off, hand dried with microfibre cloths

Removed each wheel one at a time and did the following:

1. Rinse wheel inside & out with cold water
2. Spray on Valet Pro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner and agitate with wheel woolies
3. Rinse off with cold water
4. Spray wheel with Car Pro Iron X and leave for 3-5 minutes (This product opens up the paintwork's pores and releases any iron particles & ferrous compounds from brake pads, discs or environmental fallout)
5. Whilst Iron X is doing it's stuff cleaned the brake calipers and coated with Finish Kare FK1000P Hi-Temp Car Wax Sealant, let dry and buff off & poilsh with microfibre cloth
6. Back to the wheel - After the 5 minutes wait take a damp sponge and work the Iron X into the whole wheel - Iron X turns all the iron particles purple
7. Rinse off with loads of cold water
8. Hand dry the wheel with microfibre cloth until totally dry
9. Apply a coat of Finish Kare FK1000P Hi-Temp Car Wax Sealant and leave to dry for about 15-20 minutes
10. Once the wax/sealant has hazed over and is dry then buff off with a clean microfibre cloth or two
11. Use another microfibre cloth to buff to a high gloss shine
12. Put the wheel back on the car
13. Jack up car and start over again on wheel number 2..............

The wheels came out absolutely delicious and the crappy camera on my phone doesn't really do it justice - but that treatment should last on the wheels for 4/5 months and all that needs doing for that period is normal wash with car shampoo.

Now I am fecked and off for a well deserved shower Very Happy

It was therapy Nic....I am in pain, but feel purged of all those sweary words Very Happy .....although I must admit I did swear alot when I dropped the 3rd alloy and scraped it Very Happy Luckily it is painted and not powdercoated otherwise it would be a whole new powdercoat!

Taking my detailing to a new level and happy to pass on anything I learn that works a treat!

I had it leaning at an angle on some bits of wood and it slipped down the wood and scratch the rim - easy fix though
