Just had some craic with one of the older chaps at work who's got a VW Scirocco - the 1.4TSi 160Bhp version. Its only a year old and beginning of the week started to feel a bit rough when idling at the lights/junctions etc.
It was due for a service anyway so he took it to the garage who gave him a courtesy car and said they'd sort it and get it back to him ("Probably just a bad batch of fuel sir").
He rings them after 24hrs and there is nothing to report, theyve checked it over and will finish the service and get it back to him.
Another 24hrs goes by and he's heard nowt so calls up again to be told they are looking at the diagnostics, nothing particularly worrying and they'll get it back to him.
He rings up again today to make arrangements to pick up the car and the lady says "let me just look at the calendar.......well your new engine will arrive on Monday".........
Talk about playing down the problem, ffs
