As some may know ive had a problem with a bit misfiring and a bit splutteryness lol. Never had any codes come up, however the other night got a check engine light only for a few seconds but long enough to be stored ive read the codes and as far as I can see it is either 12 or 22. 12 been starter signal and 22 knock sensor. But iam not 100% iam reading it right. Sad

its a non booster mate ej20e I think
it is very boggy and hesitant inbetween 2-2.5k rpm when hot/running temp also when driving for a while the tickover lifts up well over 1k rpm and revs drop very slow.
when its cold it can be jerky inbetween the revs mentiond above depending on how much throttle you have on less than half is fine but notice the hesitation any more and its jerky. Its quite hard to explain lol.
Also ive changed plugs, leads, fuel filter, air filter, afm, coilpack.
Its a bit of a mystery to me.
Apologies for the essay.

unsure what year impreza its off like. but that is where the ICV is at. Break cleaner will get the crap off it.
Id say it was your knock sensor as iv had similar probs but it could be numerous things.

Behind the throttle body, tad to the right. Heres a link that might help.....Clicky....

Mine gave the same codes out yours has. I cleaned the ICV as Trev85 and Marshffs have said and looked at the knock sensor with out removing it but problem was still there so I took the Knock sensor off and noticed a crack in the case.

Thanks everyone for the replys will look into both of these tomorrow as ive just getting in. Its really irritating as when the car is loaded up with the bairns and a bootfull of clobber I have to keep the revs above 3k or it dies the death on anything other than the flat lol
thanks again will update once Ive looked.

Well that was interesting lol got the knocksensor out at the sacrifice of my middle fingernail I dont think it was meant to be that tight.
Anyway the sensor itself looks fine no damage or anything, However were the bolt goes through the middle was corroded and the rest was very shiny. Ive cleaned it up and chucked it back on but its still been spluttery iam guessing the inside shouldnt be corroded.
So should I just buy a new sensor.
