Facelift centre gauge pod onto prefacelift dash NOW FINISHED

For ages been sick of being blinded by the x3 gauges on the a pillar & wanted to put them in the centre above th heaters, but nee one makes them for the perfacelift.
So decided to graft a facelift gauge pod onto the prefacelift dash.
Took a mould of the dash & bonded it to the heater bezel, so when its finished it will blend in rather than looking as though i just plonked it there.

Found this on a buy it now or best offer on flea bay. Offered £30, which was accepted so £35 all in seemed fair......

Then received a mail to say they had dropped it when wrapping it up & damaged surface finish on the gelcoat & would i like a full refund or £10 discount. Mmmmmm, go on then . Seems its getting butchered anyway.

Will updated once it arrives.

Nowt like custom work.

At least you get the pod cheaper - get it flocked once you have moulded it - will look perfect.

PS. Love the flocked dash.

Get the pod this morning, Had to open the holes up as whey were only 52mm. Got the back secured on, need to bridge the gaps & blend the base plate in the get it flocked.

Quick update.
Got the GRP smoothed out & added a bit filler to get the shape.

Test fitted to the dashbords to make sure it hadn't warped when it was cured.

follows the dashboard line spot on.

Sent it off to be flocked this morning, gonna re-route the wiring today so should be finished during the week.
