Moving on..... Empty
PostSubject: Moving on.....   Moving on..... EmptySun 11 Apr - 20:28

Well after numerous power upgrades the car is in the middle of another one, this one isn't about more power but making what I have better. I dropped my car off at Stevens last August/September just before I went on my holidays as Steven and Paul were wanting to have a play with my car and the banana at York Raceway. I had some sticky R888's on 17's for them to play with as if my car was going to get a good 1/4 mile time it was going to be with those two playing with it Smile At the time steven was gooing to test some new coilovers I had just had fitted as they needed adjusting and I didn't know what I was doing and since they were fitted I had no confidence in the cars handling as it was far far too bouncy. On the way to Stevens a bike I was having some fun with started undertaking me on a bend Embarassed So you can giuess how bad the handling was, luckily the bend ended earlier than the biker thought and I put my foot down on the straight and it was bye bye Smile

Steven took the car and decided he was going to use it to drive to work and adjust the suspension settings as he went. He worked out it was far too dangerous to boot the car in its nornal mode as the springs were far too soft 6kgs front and 5kgs back. He then turned up the damping and found the car was better but it was that hard that he could not drive over 60mph as it was reaking his spine Smile On the way home he got to his farm and whern the car was on tickover he noticed abnormal smoke coming from the car, he had a quick check and pressumed the head gaskets had gone Sad

The car lay dormant a while until Steven had the time to look at the engine, he then discovered that the liners in my engine had dropped Sad I left it with steven to sort this out but obviously knew the cost of repair was going up. I talked to Steven and we decided it was time to change a few more parts on the car. Mainly the exhaust side as it was to make the car more quiet so its a more track friendly car. There is a lot more parts which are being changed and the inlet manifold is getting reveresed and everything has just got out of control again Smile

The car has been of the road a while now but I'm not so bothered as its trying to find the cash for everything that I know is going to happen. Once the engine rebuild starts and the new parts start going on Steven is going to try and get some pictures of the work so hopefully I can update this thread. My plans are to stay around 600bhpish at the moment and we will see what happens next year Very Happy There is some quality looking parts going on at the moment and I'm just looking forward to getting the car back Very Happy

To be honest when I get it back I doubt it will be much faster than what it was when the engine let go but I do expect it to be alot quieter so that should shut the neibours up Very Happy

Steven is the person who does the work on my car Smile

I'm just waiting for some warranty work to be done before I know my full spec. It hasn't changed that much. I'm on my laptop but on my proper pc I have a list of some of the parts

There will be loads more bits that could be added to this list but this is more off the top of my head

Last count it was running 2.2bar but I never knew what it was running power wise ? It made 550bhp at 1.6bar so I realistically thought it would be about 570bhp??
