right guys no doubt you will have all seen these i looked at some feedback and pretty much all impreza feedback said good /fast delivery or as discribed etc so i emailed around 20 impreza turbos bought and have had 16 replies and only 2 out of the 16 tha replied gave them a good word as most people are that happy they got a big turbo leave good feedback before fitting Shocked Shocked

3 were forced to run external wastegates due to poor quality and seals going and turbo lag ridiculous.. cherry cherry

just thought id let fellow members on here know as would hate to think someone bought one and had the inevitable bang Wink Wink Wink

I think the price of them says it all :-)

Saying that couple of people running the 18gs off eBay , I'm sure phil555s typer was running one with no probs

Not all eBay turbos are the same, the JAWarehouse 18g (what phil had on) is not a bad turbo and good VFM, there is some shite though!

Yip you're right bud. Had no issues at all with my 18g. Spools up well at around 3200 rpm. Still not sure what it's pushing out like cos she wouldn't tie down on the rollers. Car's running 3.5 BAR fuel pressure at 84% injector duty. Jonny reckons she would be pushing a few ponies........... Very Happy

We fitted one to a guys car about a month ago, he supplied it. It came with clear garden hose for pipes (!), and didnt have the larger oil & water pipe fitments. The wastegate/actuator set up was terrible and needed replacing with an adjustable forge actuator straight away. Boost delivery was far from smooth and it didnt begin to spool until around 4,000 RPM.

I wouldnt advise anyone to purchase one unless you can speak to someone first who has tried one.

When I bought my 18g after a good recommendation from a fellow member I was confident it would be ok. Had the turbo fitted then up to see Andy F for a mapping session. I told Andy that it was from eBay and he smiled and said "let's see how this goes". After the mapping session Andy said "you must have a good one cos that's pulling well". IMO it's very hitty / missy what you get off eBay. I paid £520 delivered for my 18g and wasn't to fussed if it fooked up TBH. Here I am 12 months later with the same turbo, granted it's probs only done 1000 miles or less but it's been a good un (touch wood).

Sounds like you get what you pay for I guess. The one we fitted last month, the lad paid £299 for it, delivered!

ther are some on there for decent money i think this is getting a little out of perspective im talking about 20g's and the cheap £200-£300 ones not £400-£500.

i agree there maybe one or two that slip through ok as i said around 20 emailed me and only 2 said there were ok so not really a good record

Agree Dean. The 20g is supposed to be very poor. At the end of the day as mentioned you get what you pay for bud.

thanks mate defnitly agree andy.f and scooby clinics are 3 times the price and you never hear any horror stories about them..

it doesnt take a brain surgeon to work out a top entry td05 for a early classic £100-£150 and then you can get a td05/06 20G for near the same dont think so..

i am simply advising any potential members new and old who maybe dont know that much and see some of the bhp cars on here (stevebt you sod ya Laughing ) and think they have to have the same and impulse buy cos there cheap as weve all done it and 99% theyve turned into horror stories and to think twice on wasting there hard earned cash Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
