Split the block today to see if the crank & shells were okay to re-use for the rebuild, but there apears to be one of the bearings missing. Made sure it wasn't on the crank, & spent ages looking to see if it had fallen off when i removed the crank.
There was nothing in the sump, not even any fillings on the magnetic sump washer. Is it possible for these to totally disintergrate. Sure i would have heard so clattering if it let go & got kicked all over by the rods & crank.

You would have thought that it would have rattled its tits off, but clearly not. Theres a few other discoveries that have come to light with the engine, Gonna leave it at that until i speak with the garage that did the work, but not sure when that will be as there shut at the moment for a refurb. Supose the only saving grace was the issues were found before it let rip big style & i was left with an expsnsive coffee table.
