Anyone want to be on TV?

The producers of a TV show have been contancting me for the last few months about a program they are making for Channel 4. Basically, its about an artist who has been commissioned to make 'something' - (Im not sure what?) and his inspiration is going to come from me, and Eclipse Performance!

He wants to come up here and spend a bit of time with me, and other people who are into the car modifying scene to get his head around it and figure out what makes us tick! Why we spend so much money on it, what do we get out of it, why we do it etc... etc... Then he will go away and make something, either a painting, sculpture, or whatever, based on what he learnt. Its all being filmed and will be made into a program which will be shown on Chanel 4 TV

I think its quite a good oportunity for us to get across the true enthisiasts, and dismiss the mith that all Subaru owners are hooligans ripping up the tarmac and making loud noises. Its a good chance to get some great PR for Eclipse Performance, this forum & Subaru's in general.

They want to come up here on Wednesday 17th August and experience a 'meet', where they can talk to people who are mad on their cars and into the modifying scene.

I spoke to Jonny this morning to see if we could come up with a plan, and we decided the best thing would be to have it here, at Eclipse. It would be in the evening, 19:30 has been suggested by the producers, and all we need to do is have a bunch of nice cars for them to look at.

So if anyone would be interested in coming along put your names down and we'll get the ball rolling!

I take it onboard mate. Ive done quite a bit with the TV from my rallying days, so Ill be keeping an eye on them.

Reading between the lines I think this is a project for the artist on people who are passionate about something, rather than a documentory on boy racers, so i cant see them getting any mileage out of making us look bad. I guess it could have been about flower arranging or music, but for some reason they contacted me and chose cars!

I wouldn't want to be on TV, but if you want a hand with any PR stuff, I'm doing it freelance atm so i'm only too happy to help.

Thanks for all the volenteers guys! The more the merrier!! You dont have to have a modified car to be honest, they just want to talk to people who are mad about cars in general!

Just been and had a great chat with Chris. This event is gonna be great and i'm really pleased to be involved with it now.

Lots of exposure for the North East car scene!

The Eclipse rally cars will be out on display as well as their stock displays and even some cups of tea and hot dogs, probably needed considering how cold it has been on a night time lately!!

We want to get as many cars there as possible to not only represent the N.E and Eclipse on the Channel 4 documentary but to showcase the awesome things they can do as a company!

If you can think of any forums that would love to know about this, regardless of the marque / maker then can you please drop me a PM and i'll make sure everyone knows about this night.
