| Anyone had one or know much about them? Specifically the earlier models with horrible centre dash thing.
Know some have had turbo issues on the oil burners.
Cheers | |

| My Dads got one and he loves it, traded his Boxster in for it which was about 3x more to insure and ate the petrol like fook. He says they are really comfortable and a nice drive, you get used to having the controls in the centre after a while. No tyre issues from him, but then he doesn't do that many miles and keeps it in 2WD most of the time. Nothing broke on him yet so I don't know about maintenance but I don't think he'd get it fixed at a main dealers or get parts from them as they're a rip off. He get's lots of good advice from the X-Trail forum that he goes on. | |

| i think its the same as everything some people get good ones and others hate them its a matter of choice i used to work at nissan years ago and drove them a lot and there really comfortable but fuel consumption is a fookin joke .. old range rover p36 for me for a old slugger workhorse there cheap and go forever | |

| Cheers all.
Just after something a bit more tarmac friendly than me Defender 90, but still with a half decent off road capability. Been around Land Rovers for years and fancied a change, probs just stick to what I know and go with the Freelander.
Should find out later on today if it's needed or not...........

| Have you considered a Forester ?
Drove a few before buying the Honda and would have had one right away, but the CRV can carry so much more from a luggage point of view and we needed that with the kids, otherwise Mrs KGT would be in one now.

| No to Forester - staying away from flat 4 cranks Looked at all the bigger stuff (Shogun/Pajero, Land Cruser, Trooper / Disco / Terrano / etc) at one stage or another. Don't need anything that big, think the slowlander will be what I go for. Cheers | |
