I see what you mean, it looks like it been written on with solder or whatever
Most of the ones I just looked at on Google images seem to have much bolder lettering (certainly the IHI bit) which will have been machined into the tooling to give an embossed effect on the casting when its produced. This does look like a bit of an afterthought, but I'm sure Drew, Finn, AK, Jonny will have seen plenty of them to comment with authority.

ive also had a look mate and there grafted perfectly on the turbo and also there all at the op near the plaque also they are the other way round lol seems very suspicious
