| Subject: Knock sensor, what a chew on!! Wed 25 Apr - 18:10 | |
| So thanks to Drew and some of you in here it was discovered my engine management light was down to a wet/faulty knock sensor.. Took Drews advice and moved it further up the block, he cleared the fault and all was fine till the next day, back on again. Back to Drews where he found the knock sensor was probably fooked and needed replacing.. Getting bored of driving round in limp mode by this stage! Got in touch with Import Car Parts and the guy was more than helpful. £80 later and the sensor arrived this morning, took the intercooler etc off again, old sensor off, offered up the new one, didn't fit!! Back in touch with Import Car Parts where we discovered he sent the right one, but for some odd fooking reason my car is fitted with a pre-2003 sensor with the grey connector.. so, no further forward! Posted old one back today, new one on it's way, car still in bits, good job I'm off this week!! Note to self, check the fooking parts I'm ordering before I fooking order.. | |

| that knock sensor will fit your car ..
a no the plug is different.
but your old plug could be fitted too this sensor.
all you had too do was shove a tiny flat head screw driver inside the plug and the wire would have come out.
and do the same too ur new sensor, and then fit new sensor wire/end too ur old plug..
its literally a 30 second job | |

| I had no idea Finn, I just looked at the the two plugs and they didn't even look similar so wouldn't have thought to start tinkering with it?? Shouldve asked first in here I suppose.. - Andy Kindon wrote:
