where to find the knock sensor.

My engine check light has been coming up lately, after flogging it, it comes sometimes while plotting about plus its using alot of juice, i went up to pitchblack house witch is 35 mile away from mine i put £30 in it, it used it all by the time i got back and that was plotting away at 70 80 and kept out of boost as i was seen what it was like on a run, anyways pitchblack said put the two black wires together and the engine check light will flash, i did this and it flashed up 22, iv looked on here and its say knock sensor, where can i find it and would that be the problem to it using alot of petrol. ???

Knock sensor is above no 4 cylinder, or as you look at the engine on your right under the inlet manifold to the rear. I'd try the lambda for the fuel usage for starters.

cheers mate, so you think it could be the lamda thats out but not showing up ? would a snap on computer show it up ?

have you reset the ecu ?

faulty knock sensor wont give u poor economy.

faulty MAF or LAMBA could cause this..

Iv had the battery off over night and the check light still comes on.

If it was the knock sensor, your car would go into safe mode and drive like it had had its engine swapped to a 50cc moped lump

ok , is code 22 showing after you reset ecu ?

It is mate yes, I left the lead off today while was doing a oil change, connected it back up started the car let it warm up, turned it off put the two black wires together, bing code 22! Any ideas.

fast flashes giv 2nd number

ie= 3 slow flashess
then
2 fast flashess=

would be code 32

= oxygen sensor.

Worked on quite a few though . Best stop using dodo juice on your napper and pinch of salt me, ive had to do the knock sensor on mine in the past. Experience, not google

ever thought it could actually be knocking....

sounds like the lambda matey mine ran without out 1 for a whille code light on everytime went into 5th plugged lambda in and sorted it

internets been down to reply, iv been out in the car today another £30 got 70 mile this time, engine check light came on, when i went to put my foot down judered engine light came on then boosted...... couple of people said lamda sensor, also i can smell fuel when i stop and it does a little pop when i change gear..

Changed the lambda today fuel has seemed to sort its self out abit and there isnt any smell of fuel no more BUT, i went to the meet tonight for kasey traveling down the a19 doing about 75-80mph, off boost went to put my foot down the car held back then juddered then boosted, but the engine check light came on again, put the two wires together for the ecu and its still coming up code 22,

two long flashes
two short flashes.

any ideas any one as its starting to boil my p155 now, also whats the knock senor look like on these does the inlet have to come off to get to it..
