| Are those cometic gaskets not the ones that failed on loads of cars? | |

| Divvent say that, I've heard from loads of places that they were top notch. I've not paid for anything yet, so any alternative recommendations are appreciated.
Luckily that's only gaskets/seals, can get Andy to source them

| Alan go for genuine Subaru or Cosworth gaskets. The black coating on the Cometic gaskets flakes off and you will have a HG repair on your hands. |

As above. Darren is right. The black coating on the gaskets fail. I couldn't believe how easy it peeled off the gaskets.

I'm going for the Cosworth head gaskets, was just for the rest of the seals really, but the whole lot is supplied as one kit. Will just leave them out and get AK to get the seals he requires

| Ok so today I've picked up my new ecu, a Simtek with anti lag and launch enabled. My forged kit turned up about a month ago and I've just been in touch with Andy Kindon to get the machining done on the block and start the build, confirming details at the weekend. Fully closed deck block, 14mm studs, the kit changed a bit from the above, but still has 100mm pistons, BC Rods and STi crank. Andy is sourcing the rest. Eeee I can't wait, should be good for 1000 bhp if required I'm also in talks with Simon at Chevron Motorsport to sort the handling. Hoping to have the car in there before the track day at Ingliston at the end of August. Too much money being spent :hurt: but feck it, I love my car. | |

| Well eventually had the suspension mods carried out at Chevron Motorsport today, I really wish I had done this first, I can't even begin to describe the difference it's made, like chalk and cheese compared to how it was. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Aye they're not cheap, Â but he charged me 10 hours, they worked 14 and they also refurbished my shocks for nowt. Like I say though mate, it's worth every penny, the car feels so much different, very neutral and no more nose diving into corners
Car is sitting just nice, will get a pic when it's on the flat

| Course you can charge VAT on labour. VAT doesn't go to the supplier, it goes to the government you know? | |

| For Baldy, this is how it's sitting now. Totally changed the car, it looks like an S204 now What a beautiful car that is in the flesh mind you. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Nar this is it now mate, nothing much different, it's a little lower and the car is sitting level rather than slightly up at the rear. | Whats the distance between centre of hub to arch ? Very intrested in this... We've been setting ours back up to almost level again rake than slightly nose down, ours was way to low aswell, up around 25/30mm now, its way better!! Get onto the 22b Sprint series bud and get it used, tis what Subaru's are for | |

| Was thinking of that pal, or super lap Scotland. Needs a bit more spent on it though to be able to compete.
Not sure on the distance mate will give it a measure for you on Saturday. Going low isn't the way to go when you want it to handle. Was talking to Simon yesterday, one of his lads had his car on its arse and wanted to race it, he raised it 30mm, he's now near the top of S2 in 22b with mid 400 bhp (sure thats what he said) competing against GTR's etc.
The car has very little weight to get through corners now, so that really doesn't surprise me.

| Do it mate, we are not competitive really but out there having a right hoot, good banter, safe fun and better than carparks and B roads...
nah we werent too low to be fair but low enough, raised it up for Snet, adjustable roll bars and damper settings to as its a fast track... Get out and enjoy it, nobody makes fun for being shite.... trust me haha
