Engine management light keeps coming on

Just had my car mapped and when I give it full chat and I get to about 5-6 thousand revs the engine management light flickers on and off, it done it a few times when my car was getting mapped but I put it down to the electrical issue I had but since I changed the nackerd coil pack its still happening  

The car still runs fine when its flickering and Andy said that everything was ok and that it had been mapped 100% safe (zero det/knock) but its got me concerned.

Any ideas?

Thought the check light was used to show det/knock when the simtek is fitted. I'd drop Andy a line to be on the safe side bud. It may have been fine when mapped but owt could have happened since then.

Not sure but if it is I think it would be best if I did message him, cheers mate

Aye, forgot about the shift light option also

Still worth a call for peace of mind and assurance if you didnt expect it to be on as a shift light.

He didn't mention anything about a shift light, it was on when we were out mapping and it comes on at what I would say is peak boost so it could be! Ive sent him an email so it will be interesting to see if it is, good shout Stick!

Chance are its that. If it was a error Andy would normally tell you before mapping.

Andy's been in touch and said that there were abnormalities at the high end of the rev range which he put down to the defective coil pack but seen as though its still there and the coil pack is fixed he'll have a look at it the next time he's down at gippa's and sort it

The shift light is mapped in at 7000rpm.
