| Do these fit as a direct bolt on? i had a classic with a front mount before the hatchback so it all looks a bit strange to me the way the td04 bolts to the ugly intercooler. | |

| 16g, sti inter cooler, a 255 pump, decat and a map and you'll get 330/350 no probs , I pushed 377bhp on the dyno give or take a little with Jonny's 16g it spools up quick as fook and pulls all the way through, you would not be disappointed | |

| The new wrx has a crappy looking plastic inlet manifold with the intercooler pipe coming from underneath it! i am not sure the sti intercooler fits am i right in thinking they are also using a different throttle body (fly by wire) | |

| Can i not just buy a 2008 sti inlet manifold or are the throttle bodys different? there is a inlet manifold complete even with injectors on ebay now for 200 quid surely this would free up more options. I dont really want to splash a load of cash on a topmount setup i would rather buy a perrin front mount system, i know the gains are nothing for the front mount at the lower levels of tuning but it does look smart and smarten the engine bay + if they sound as good on the hatch as they did on my classic i would be happy! | |

| Just been digging around on the american forums and a couple of people have asked the same question as me and the answer seems to be yes you can fit the sti manifold but why do it? the plastic manifold is lighter and has a smoother internal surface so unless you are swapping it for a cosworth or other improved inlet manifold dont bother! So it looks like i will change the turbo together with a front mount set up. Cheers for the help Jonny Gav i will be in touch for a turbo when i get the front mount! | |

| take a picture of your engine and I will compare it with mine
The STI intercooler would go on and if you can get one for £200 snap there hands off, but you must make sure its from a sharkeye STI and not a hawkeye or blobeye as they are different.
as for the turbo one of jonnys or a VF48 if you can get one cheap.

| " /> Only pic i have at the minute i am away at work. the intercooler bolts direct to the turbo no pipe, then there is a pipe coming from under the manifold to the right side of the intercooler just below the bov. | |

| looking at the picture it looks like the inlet manifold is the same as any other wrx and that is just a black cover over the top to tidy the engine bay up. Your car has a td04 turbo so it would only be the intercooler that you would need.
To make sure can you take a picture looking at the throttle body.

To make sure can you take a picture looking at the throttle body. They actually do have a plastic inlet manifold. I have been looking on some american forums the americans reckon i should keep the plastic manifold as it has smother internal surface and also deals with the heat better so no need for spacers, also there has been no reported failures on them. I think i will just go for a front mount at the same time i change the turbo.

| I had a aftermarket inlet and Jonny Gav said swap it back and bob rawl but that was because of the turbo I have so they must be decent inlets | |

| Its taken me most of the last year to shift mine. I do a bit every few weeks after I get home and the engine is still very warm. Ive not found anything to shift it when cold, its just a case of get in there and wipe away without scorching yourself. | |

I was thinking of doing a trial patch with some turpentine or white spirit maybee dilute it a bit first and see how it goes!

| Give it a try mate, but Ive found a good rag/brush/toothbrush shifts it no problem when its still warm and then you can clean the area afterwards with some kind of treatment which will make it look a lot nicer. Lian and John #(Razzle Dazzle) gave me some kind of engine bay spray which is fantastic. If you drop them a line they might be able to give you some advice also. | |
