| Driving down a1 today to get subaru serviced at around 60mph in 5th at around 2k rpm, boosted up in 5th from 2k up to 3k and car was slipping as if clutch was slipping, had a sort of fuelcut back fired with lots of flames and hoyed engine light up. Error core was po244 turbocharger wategate solenoid A specified error. I put a bov on the other day and the car is boosting to around 1.8-1.9 bar... Anyone got any ideas? Ive removed the aftermarket bov and have not yet drove the car to test it.

| I know I was advised not to put one on the car unless I was going to get it mapped and then the car woudl be set up with the dump valve in the system. If you play with the air or fuel delivery on these cars you could be asking for problems.

| We have had a GFB hybrid which both resircs and vents to atmosphere. fitted to the hatch for 2 & half years and it runs fine think it depends on what you have fitted cheap ones I wouldn't fit. sounds to me scoobaru that you have hit fuel cut.steve Jones has had it happen to him a few times when booting it too much lian | |

| Ive removed it and it doesn't seem as bad!!! Come back from darlo on a1 just gradually building up boost and all is well, still a small amount of slip but i think turbo might be out on its way as its screaming at full boost, if you boost up all the way through the box shes sweet with no probs, but as soon as you go from 2k-3.5/4k it still slips ever so slightly... Might have had something to do with me filling it with 95ron rather than 97 buts shes full with 97!! | |

if your putting 95 ron in a car that's mapped for 99 ron your asking for a big engine bill. My car was doing the same recently boosting to 1.8 bar instead of the 1.5 bar and it was down to a knackered 3 port boost solenoid. - byers wrote:

| When I put a forge dv on mine it kept putting engine light on... Had it mapped in and has been fine since then. Would only ever put v power or tesco 99 in, asking for trouble with anything else in. Are you on standard clutch ? If yes clutch will start to slip with power you have. Money money money :-) :-) Hope ya get sorted.

| if the clutch is worn/on its way out then early symptoms are clutch slip, which will occur when max torque is produced in relation to load, ie full boost at low revs in a high gear | |

Its definatley not clutch slip as the clutch is nice and strong with a low bite, its definstley over boost most than likely my solenoid. I will have to get her tested and see what is said, andy i wont be down today mate , our lass is dragging me to the metro | |
