Just wondering what gives the best acceleration a 5 speed box or a 6 speed box and is there any difference with the JDM versions,
Also what would roughly the 0-60 time be of a bugeye with 350-360 bhp

imo i'd say a 5 speed box would be better, longer gears less changes
to get better acceleration you can change your gear ratio but that will loose your top end speed (not that anyone would do that on public roads lol)

My type R has a low ratio 5 speed box and is very quick 0-60 (std is 4.6 secs). Ball ache on long trips though as the gearing is so low. 3K rev in 5th @ 70.

mine reads 2550 at 70mph in 5th. with the 2.5 fitted on a UK 5 Speed

the newage sti 6 speed has short ratio's from 1 - 4
IMO the newage 6 speed is a excellent box
steviedoo, your more than welcome to take my bugeye sti for a blast before you decide on what box is best ;-)

Thanks for the offer Finn, but I'm not thinking of changing my box to a 6 speed, was just wondering if my Jdm 5 speed box has lower ratios than a 6 speed hence giving more acceleration

my v4 classic reads about 2500rpm at 70mph in 5th if this has any relevance lol
