PostSubject: Tmic or fmic   Tmic or fmic EmptySun 8 Apr - 20:47

What is the best option for my intercooler dilemma. I am doing my scoobie up ready for the summer I have heard you loose performance by fitting a front mount and can I get a bigger aftermarket top mount to fit my car and not loose performance. I have been making a new front bumper and is nearly ready for primer and don't want to go any further with it until I know which intercooler is the best option. I don't want to compromise look of the bumper if it's not worth fitting a front mount. Any help would be great lads

depends what power you are after mate, top mount is limited to the 400 bhp mark,

I personally would go for a front mount as the cooling area is bigger and they are good for higher power builds.

Think EJ22GAV has an sti 8 top mount modded to fit your year car, that's what I would do, in fact that is what I did with my classic.

Running a front mount under 350hp has a large impact on performance in my experiences, in fact I personally wouldn't go to front mount until over 400hp.

Thats why i asked whay power mate there is pros and cons to FMIC i have gone front mount but once i get my final map im hoping to be around the 450bhp bracket,

So less than 400 stay top mount over go front,
