I am thinking of getting a classic sti as a project car or even stretching to a type r or p1. what year and model would u guys recommend getting ?

Apparently they have a very strong engine set up as std.

The type r is a lot more race focused than the p1

differences are-
type r has dccd gearbox
type r has r180 rear diff and huge drive shafts
type r has closer ratio gearbox
type r has stiffer suspension
type r has auto intercooler waterspray (no abs)

p1 is styled better
p1 has abs
p1 has more comfortable suspension.
p1 is more desirable (only 1000 made)
