ABS light help on new age sti Empty
PostSubject: ABS light help on new age sti   ABS light help on new age sti EmptyWed 4 Jul - 23:34

Hi all I'm in need of some advice,

I chanced the discs and pads on my 2005 sti for brembo grooved and EBC yellow stuff, since doing this the ABS light has been on and it also affects the DCCD auto mode when turning.

I was very careful not to damage the sensors when changing the discs, I've since removed all the sensors and cleaned them, checked the rings for damage and dirt, checked the wires for damage, checked the ABS fuse, checked the brake fluid level, and disconnected the battery in an attempt to reset but still the ABS light remains.

I guess maybe flushing and renewing the brake fluid is the next step but I was also wondering if plugging a code reader into the OBD port will read any codes for the ABS, or is it for engine ECU only? Or have I missed something? Apart from all this the new brakes work perfectly -the ABS

Thanks for the advice mate

I'm tempted to bring the car to Chester le street if you don't mind plugging it in and reading it? Also gives me a good excuse to take the car for a run out Smile

ABS fixed, used a Bosch code reader from a local garage which was used via the OBD port, front passenger side sensor was faulty. Quick pop round to import car parts (and £150 later) for a new one, 20 min to swap it over and the light went out. Nice easy fix in the end Very Happy
