Subject: Cel light on Sun 16 Dec - 9:29
Well the cel light keeps coming on, car still drives fine and seems to have no problems at all performance wise, but has code P0140 when read with a code reader. Looks like more expense only had it mapped last week, waiting to find out the diagnosis but think it may be lambda sensor.

So P0140 code is for 2nd lambda sensor not the 1st one, as code reader said bank 1 sensor 2 no activity, but didn't think 2nd lambda was in any bank.

Bank 1 relates to inline cylinder engines inc Subaru were there is only 1 first lambda ie bank 1 sensor 1 = 1st lambda Bank1 sensor 2 = 2 nd lamda
bank 2 normally relates to a v6,8,10 etc were there is 2 first lambdas one on each side
That's the easy way to explain it

Your diagnosis was spot on Drew and luckily for me Bob Rawle who only mapped my car just over a week ago was back in the area this morning, he said the 2nd lambda sensor wasn't needed when running no cats as its job is just to check that the cats are working so he's just switched it off in the software so job sorted. So no cost
