| Never had a clutch go on a car before, but today while going to work, changed from 5th to 6th and when accelerating got to 4000 revs and revs then shot up but car did not accelerate, changed back to 5th and exactly the same happened, not doing it on any other gear or from a standstill, just drove home from work and the same thing again only in 5th and 6th and 4000 revs onwards, are these the usual symptoms of a fooked clutch, as I always thought it would be worse from a standstill but it's fine apart from 5th and 6th gear.
If it is the clutch what's best to put in and what price am I looking at, will it last long as is or will it soon go altogether as the car is used just about every day to and from work so can't really do with it packing up altogether. | |

| The car has just under 50000 miles on, when I bought it 4 months ago I was told it had an ap racing clutch fitted, but obviously don't know if this is true or not, had no signs of it going at all untill today, that's if it is the clutch. | |
