Subject: Turbo's how do they work ? Tue 26 Feb - 13:08
Ok daft question but how does a turbo work ?when i plant my foot down the boost gauge goes up to 1.4bar i keep my foot down but the gauge will drop off to under 1 bar is this what its suppose to do or will a 3 port boost solinoid sort it not sure what solinoid is on my scoobie.

Once on full boost should stay on .....

Don't they start to tail off boost though after they've reached there peak?

Thats what TD04 turbos do they spool up real early because they are small the only downside is they cant hold boost right up the rev range..

Natski is correct, this shouldn't happen to a VF35 on a 2.0 engine though unless its been mapped like that which is possible

That's what mines doing it dropping off I've also noticed a air blow noise when turbo kicks in

If I remember correctly Jonny when Gav had that v8 sti with the md321h on it Andrew Carr mapped it to 1.5 bar tailing off to 1.2-3 bar

Ah shite I didn't read your sig it blatantly says you have a vf35 lol. If your noticing an air blow sound then you have a boost leak somewhere bud

Aren't the plastic hard pipes leading to the turbos prone to leaking?
