PostSubject: P0340 - Faulty   P0340 - Faulty EmptyWed 15 May - 18:59

OK so my car stutters when it's cold at about 3500 rpm, I tend not to run that high anyway, but sometimes can't help it.

Today on my way home from work, took the car to just over 3000 rpm and sat there for a few seconds as I was stopping a rattle on the dash, when I look back at my dash, the engine light is on, car is running Fine.

I've just had a reader on it and the code is coming back as P0340 - which is faulty Cam position sensor, I've knocked it off and have just googled it and on SNet people are saying to just leave it and ignore it. Is it something I should replace and could it be this which is making the car stutter when it hits 3500 rpm? <- that only happens when cold as it's ok when warm.

So should I get it sorted? If so, how much approx?

It may just need a clean, remove the sensor and clean the base, they are magnetic so do pick up some shit.
