| Needs some help folks. Car is a Blobeye STI DCCD box, 45k on clock.
Quick background of last few days; Car was fine but needed brakes. Replaced discs and pads and tyres. Done at my work (main Vauxhall dealer)
Car put back together Friday night, didn't drive it from work until Saturday afternoon, drive home fine but steadily with having new brakes.
Sunday drive to NBO with everyone fine, got into the field and there was a grinding / creaking from underneath on full lock both ways only at very low speed, feels like the diff is locking.
Drive home fine, usually have it fully back, but left tnin auto as j do when kids are in car.
This morning going to work, all was fine. Got to work 13 miles later, turned into work slowly and grinding is back and felt like it was jumping a bit. Like diff is trying to lock again. Put it all the way back and again it's perfect.
One of the mechanics took it out and says he thinks front diff is broken and needs replaced, a couple of other technicians said the same.
I can't help feeling they are wrong as they have no experience of impreza a let alone dccd boxes.
Before I spend a fortune, help please. Anything else it could be?

| Not 100% sure but I think this is normal with the DCCD boxes Michael I'm sure I have read something about DCCD settings having strange effects on low speed manoeuvres | |

| It's been different these last 2 days mate, I've left it at work and not driven it tonight as I'm worried its more sinister. I've had it since Feb and not noticed this. | |

| Most likely, try it with the diff open then fully locked and you will see what we mean, sometimes if they don't get used they can stick a little, do you keep it in auto all the time? | |

| I drive either in auto or fully open. Auto in mornings and fully back usually when roads are quiet on way home.
If I fully open the diff it's perfect. As soon as in auto it grinds like the diff is locking but only at low speeds, it's jut I haven't noticed it before and the technicians at work saying the diff is about to shat itself. I know they haven't any Subaru experience but they are supposed to know more than me.
If I can make it to the meet tomorrow can someone drive it with me and have a look?

| I also think your worrying for nothing Michael I'm sure your vauxhall guys know there vauxhalls but a Scoob is completely different breed of animal.. To set your mind at ease before tomorrow's meet why don't you give Subaru a quick phone call as im sure many worried DCCD owners have in the past | |

| If it does it in auto it's fine, as long as it doesn't do it when it's fully open then it's fine. | |

| I feel better now. If I hadn't worried with the horror stories from work I'd have brought it home and tried it again now.
Ill let someone try it tomorrow night and set my mind at ease.
Cheers guys | |
