Does NESF have a Facebook group ? It would be good to have a group as we use them at work all the time to increase visibility.
If we don't have one I could easily setup and manage it for the club, we could advertise the meets and only allow members of the forum to post
If we have one ignore me

I know another car club who have a site like this opened a Facebook page and the site has gone right down the toilet no one go's on the site cos they all use Facebook apart from me and I wouldn't like to thing the same will happen to NESF I suppose peaple could put this website in the status

I see your point but does it matter where a car club resides whether it be Facebook or at the actual site, the club is a club no matter what and with the greatest respect the NESf forum is pretty unusable on a mobile device
Facebook offers a free way advertising the club and making announcements

We had one before but it didn't work aswell as hoped plus a lot of fools tried to be added and such like. Plus it was also hard for the mods running the two

The NESF Facebook page was not good at all. I only use a mobile device on the forum and never have any issues whatsoever with it. It worked fine on android and it works fine on iOS too. It even works when you have no 3G signal unlike facefook..

The FB site was a PITA - It was closed down in the best interests of the club and its members. It was attracting all sorts of nutters and was being used a lot to sell parts by individuals who were not members of the NESF site here, where there is a 20 post rule for new members before they can advertise items for sale. This left the FB site wide open to abuse and it was decided to take it down - There are no plans to have another one. We are here to protect members as much as we can from being scammed and it is too difficult to control on FB.

dont do it! it kills the web based car clubs as i have found out. Our facebook site is busy but a web based site is just dead....real dead. tbh wish i hadnt done it

Isn't this a free site though meaning it actually makes a loss to run the club. I feel for the people who dig deep into there pockets
Is there anyway the club could make money to run itself. Could maybe the members pay for a membership with benefits IF they wanted too even charitable donations ?
