Manual Boost Controller Empty
PostSubject: Manual Boost Controller   Manual Boost Controller EmptySun 21 Jul - 10:43

Alright Lads?

I've been looking at boost controllers, not that have the money for the electric (singing & dancing) controllers but.... Ive seen the manual setups on Ebay. Would you's rate them for use on the cars (basically a tap inside the car). Just been reading about a guy thats blown his bottom end, and yous are calling him for being heavy footed. Generally I'm off road in a defender 90 so when i jump in the scooby red mist comes over and I tear it a new 1 each time i'm out (not had the car long, 4 weeks-ish) so it's still a laugh.

I know if i fit I can just crank it up but, I was wondering if the cheap 1's are just a gimmic or worth it just to give the engine a breather?

Cheers

tbh there are loads and loads of opinions manual ones people cant help but just turn them up more every week because it fell slower and then boooom electronic ones set right will be better for your car your less likely to mess with it lol

Manual boost controller = more air
"Fuelling not altered to compensate more air"
= running lean
= engine Fk'd
= owner sick as fk wondering why it went pop

There is room for compensation IF you know what you are doing with the standard ECU as it measures the air volume being used BUT you need monitoring equipment to do it properly.

Det cans, a wide band and a logger are a must, oh and the ability to use them and understand the outputs.

As Drew said wacking the boost up until it goes bang is usually what happens.

It's a lot more expensive than a remap lol
