| I'm looking at getting a new rear section for the exhaust. I currently have a prodrive style rolled magnex on I think. Just I prefer the look of the other tailpipes like the afterburners. I've been looking at the afterburners but unsure of which to go for the vortex or the raptor. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations as most of the reviews online are very similar. | |

| Depends what you are looking for mate? The Raptor is the updated louder version of the Vortex. Both lovely sounding exhausts - I think KGT had a Vortex on his scoob, but as said the Raptor is a bit louder. Not bad price as well at around £250. |

| Cheers I was prefering the raptor to be honest and they seem well priced both of them. Either one I will have to use a bung as I work early mornings, do the bungs quiet them down a fair bit on startup just the plan would be to take the bung out after im out of the street. It'll be a pain but worth it for the exhaust. | |

| Cheers raptor it is going to get it ordered tomorrow. I definetly think that tailpipe will suit the ht auto rear diffuser alot better than the one on at the moment. I assume I won't need a map tweak as its already mapped for a 3 inch system and I'm only changing the rear section and not altering the number of cats or lack of in this case. | |

| Can certainly vouch for the Afterburner Vortex and I assume the Raptor will be equally nice. Lovely bit of kit, very well made and sounded wonderful......just not at 6am in the corner of a sleepy little cul de sac, hence it went the journey | |

| I've just ordered the raptor so hopefully it'll be on by the weekend. Its ok I dont have to worry about starting the car at 6am just at about 4:30am so I hope the bung will help a bit. If not i'll probably have to push it out the street first thing. The current system is really loud but I can sort of get it out the street fairly quietly I keep telling myself. Would you say its a diy job or best to get a garage to do it. | |

| Chris, folks on here will attest to my technical skills. You see, I have a lot of ability in my mind, just doesn't always translate to my hands and I had no bother, just take your time. I sprayed some lube on the bolts and left it to dwell a bit before I tackled them when taking the other exhause off. I bought a new gasket just for completeness and make sure you have something appropriate to grease the rubber hangers as that will make fitting the new bbox much easier. Cant remember exactly what I used, something like copper slip or raspberry jam...... | |

| Cheers think I'll have a go myself at the weekend and if I cant get it sorted I'll get it done somewhere. I'm in chester-le-street so have plenty of places to take it to. Think I'll keep the old system and put it back on when I eventually sell the car as I think this may be the first of a few imprezas I may own. | |

| Ches Le Street is the mecca of top class scooby fettlers. You've got the UK's top dogs on your doorstep. look up Kindon and Drew in the Your Business section of the website if you get stuck.....but I suspect you'll be ok. | |

| That was one of the draws of the subaru aswell of them being excellent cars, having specialists just on the doorstep, may get me to tempted for more mods on the car mind. The car is with drew today getting a full service its ideal he's just a couple of streets down from me. | |

| I've got the raptor now just waiting to get it fitted tomorrow morning. Turns out I couldn't just fit the rear section on as mine is a revolution system so it comes it 2 parts rather than 3 sort of like a cat back. Andy kindon has sorted out a second hand centre section to go onto the original system so the raptor can be fitted onto that. Should sound pretty good when its all on, especially when the ht autos carbon fibre diffuser goes on next week aswell. | |

| The exhaust is on the car now and I would definetly reccomend it to anyone looks and sounds the part. It is very loud mind probably about the volume of a blitz exhaust. Just waiting for the diffuser to come at the end of the week. | |

| Yeah I will do. It really does sound excellent, it'll sound good on video but even better in real life. I frightened quite a few pedestrians on the way home with it. Going down the gears doesn't half give a loud bang. | |

| Just thought I'd let people know how I've found the raptor rear section as there isnt really much about them around. It's a really good system it seems to have settled in nicely not to over the top pottering about but when you plant your foot it isnt half loud. Loads of pops and bangs from the exhaust now compared to the revloution system that was on before. A slight warning though when the exhaust is brand new on the car it is seriously loud at all times I was at the point just taking it off as it was too much, an impreza is always loud but this was something else. But as I say it does settle down nicely or perhaps I may have suffered hearing loss. If anyone is looking at a new exhaust I would definetly recommend it quality piece of kit and looks really good on the car especially with my new ht diffuser aswell. | |
