Making a cd

I'm trying to make a cd for the car iv got Nero in my laptop iv added the files I want to copy to disc from my hd and said I want to make a mp3 disc but Nero keeps saying I need a DVD disc and won't accept a cd-r disc does anyone have some software to burn a cd onto a cd-r

If you have over 700mb of songs it will prompt for a dvd

Think there was only 300 give or take daz

Not how many songs how much data

Yeah data was about 300mb I'm trying to make a cd like a now 87 size but Nero keeps asking for a DVD disc

not sure what version of nero but are you choosing the cd option i.e jukebox audio cd and not the dvd option? not trying to sound off just trying to help as i had the same problems a few year back before i knew how to use a computer lol

My thought also.  

Yeah think it's Nero 7 not updated it for a long time can it be updated for free ?? I'm going into music then make a mp3 think update is in order

What is the latest version anyone know

Think iv sort of sorted it iv done one disc but the second one seems not wanting to do then Nero which is Nero 6 not 7 just crashes the laptop

Offer is there mate,got about 40k songs

Iv got 28,000 songs but I have just under 58,000 karaoke songs I got one disc done then for some reason the laptop wouldn't read a blank disc
